OPUS AWARDS $25,000 GRANT

The OPUS Corporation, who has offices here in Natomas and built our much-loved Gateway Center and The Promenade, has awarded the Natomas Schools Foundation a grant in the amount of $25,000. It is an honor to receive such support in our efforts to engage students, parents, community members, senior citizens, business leaders, and the educational communities working together for one common cause, to help educate our youth.

SACRAMENTO RIVERCATS DONATE FOR SCIENCE
Our own history-making Sacramento RiverCats have generously donated $2,500 to support the Natomas Schools Foundation's District-Wide Science Fair coming up on March 12th, 2009. We are so proud to be in partnership with this championship team. If you didn't know already, the River Cats have won the Triple-A Pacific Coast League Championship FOUR times in the last six years! Way to go!

SAM'S CLUB CONTINUES TO SUPPORT

On behalf of Sam's Club and Wal*Mart, they have awarded us a $1,000 donation to support the Natomas Schools Foundation.

SUSHI FEST FUNDRAISER AT OSHIMA SUSHI
What a wonderful evening we had at our fundraiser held at Oshima Sushi! Oshima Sushi did a great job bringing the event together in high style.  The food was amazing, the music rocked and their newly expanded bar area, called the Fugu Lounge, was very swank.  What a fabulous nighttime destination this is for Natomas!

We raised funds for many important programs for our Natomas students such as Every 15 Minutes, Bring Music Back, a District Wide Science Fair and Donate 2 Educate.  Thanks to all of you who gave your support and especially to our sponsors:

PARDEE HOMES

Our first grant was awarded and funded by Pardee Homes’ Scott Lillibridge, the Vice President of Community Development.  Our Foundation was nominated for the grant by a Pardee Homes employee and the check was presented to the Natomas Schools Foundation President, Monty Maxwell at the Natomas Unified School District Board Meeting on February 13th.  We are very appreciative of this generous donation from Pardee Homes.

HOLIDAY HOSTS DONORS
Many Natomas businesses joined with the Natomas Schools Foundation to become a Holiday HOSTS supporter to help our struggling students. These fine businesses made a donation to help fund the HOSTS Learning program and attended a celebration at the Natomas Unified School District's offices with refreshments and a chance to meet the students who benefit from the HOSTS program.

Thanks to all!

DARRELL STEINBERG

"I toured the Natomas schools with the Natomas Schools Foundation and I was very impressed with what I saw. This organization has made it a priority to bring the community into the schools. That's good for kids, it's good for the schools, and it's good for all of us ."

- Darrell Steinberg

DIANNE MATTAR
Local Artist

"I celebrate life through my artwork.  Each piece starts with a sense of urgency, so much to do…so much to share …so much to express. Appreciation for God’s abundance & our freedom is the foundation of my art."

Dianne provided her support to the Natomas Schools Foundation by donating pencils to be given out at the upcoming Natomas Community Festival on Saturday, September 15th, 2007.

HOLLY FEZLE

On behalf of Sam's Club and Wal*Mart, Holly Fezle presents a donation check for $1,000 to support the Natomas Schools Foundation.

“We have invested in the HOSTS Program because we know it is the best investment we can make in the Natomas community.   The HOSTS program has already made differences in kid’s lives that have been recognized nationally. I would encourage all the businesses involved in Natomas and Sacramento to join us in supporting the HOSTS program by providing both additional funding mentors”
